AICTE FDP-2020
Introduction
Classrooms all over the world have gone through a massive transformation, from being teacher centric to student centric. Destinies of nations are shaped in classrooms. In fact, classrooms are the places where the future citizens of the country are reared, trained, educated and motivated to accept the emerging challenges and overcome those deftly. Management education is squarely criticized today for its overemphasis on analysis at the expense of skills related to managing and leading. Thus the onus is on the teachers to rethink the pedagogy and help evolve a new learning ecosystem.
Building skills and competencies is at the heart of management education. Business education strives to train and nurture the ability to lead businesses, social institutions, government and entrepreneurial ventures. There is an urgent need of transforming classrooms into talent factories and skill labs.
The FDP – spread over five days – begins with reflecting on the art and science of management teaching; analyzing the role of a teacher and traverses through the use of important pedagogical tools of teaching – the case method, simulations, management games, videos and other visual aids, using ICT and other platforms like Skype in the class, using movies, assessment instruments. The program will conclude on using current affairs and news headlines in the class.
