‘If the rate of change on the outside exceeds the rate of change on the inside, the end is near’, wrote Jack Welch. Change has always been at the center of Organization Development. Business is punctuated by at times necessary and expected changes, and other times by unexpected changes. If a small and expected change may affect organizational effectiveness, the potential impact for making big changes can very well be imagined. From realizing that there is a human side of an organization and gradually incorporating concepts like an employee friendly, and employee centric organization, from customers first to employees first, we have come a long way. However, managing the human side of an organization or engaging them in making organizational change, still remains a herculean task.
