Dr. Rajnandan Patnaik has an MBA from the University of Queensland, Australia, a PhD in Business Management and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Utkal University, India. As a post-doctoral research scholar at the Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University, US, he worked in the area of Academic Leadership.

He is currently the Senior Dean (Academics) and Professor at IMT Nagpur. Previously, he was the Dean (Academics) and Professor at IMT Ghaziabad, IMT Dubai, IMT Hyderabad and IMT Nagpur. He teaches courses on strategic management, strategic alliance and integration, business simulation, and entrepreneurship strategy. Before becoming a faculty member, he was a consultant with a global consulting company Mott MacDonald, working on projects funded by the World Bank, the Department for International Development, the Asian Development Bank and more.

He has published more than 30 research papers, numerous field and library business cases, and a book on the Value Chain Revolution. His teaching interests include Strategic Management, Business Models, Simulation Games, and Entrepreneurship Strategy. His research interests embrace complex adaptive systems, industry evolution, industry dynamics, competitive strategy, case research, and academic leadership. He is currently writing a three-volume book on Education and Academic Leadership.
