Concord ‘20
The institute hosted one of it’s most vivifying events of the year, Concord ‘20 - the Management Olympiad from February 7 to 9, 2020, which aimed at bringing together students from institutes across the country to participate in various academic games to test their knowledge and acumen on various managerial disciplines. The three-day event saw active participation from institutes like, Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Mumbai, Balaji Institute of International Business (BIIB) Pune, Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM), Chennai, Guru Jambeshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), Hisar, K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR), Mumbai and Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), Pune, to name a few.
The first day of the extravaganza commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Ms. Usha Singh (Director - Human Resource, MOIL Limited), Dr. Subhajit Bhattacharyya (Director, IMT Nagpur) and Dr. Santosh Shrivastava (Assistant Professor - Business Analytics, Chairperson - Student Affairs, IMT Nagpur), which was followed by Dr. Bhattacharyya delivering the opening speech and the keynote address by the Chief Guest, Ms. Usha Singh, on the importance and nitty-gritties of leadership.
The entire span of three days saw exhilarating games organised by the various academic forums of the Institute, namely Finaholics - the Finance Forum, Marque - the Marketing Forum, AnalytiX - the BA and IT Forum, Okonomos - the Business and Economics Forum, Cyclops - the Operations Forum and xploHRe - the HR Forum, that tested the students on their logical ability, reasoning and business strategies. Zimfonia - the Music forum conducted a karaoke, which saw students add rhythm to the melodious night, Literati - the Literature Club organised a poetry competition, where students gave emotions to their words and enraptured the audience, and Rangmanch - the Dramatics Club came up with a skit, that encapsulated the audience in awe, added to the ebullience of the event.
The event concluded with the closing ceremony addressed by Dr. Gajavelli V. S. (Associate Professor, Economics) and a vote of thanks by Dr. Santosh Shrivastava, where the winning teams of the various events were awarded. SCMHRD won the Runner’s-up trophy, while IMT Nagpur secured the winning position. The Olympiad provided a platform for the participating students to showcase their managerial and decision-making skills.
