Utthaan is the CSR committee of IMT, Nagpur. Founded this year on 26th October 2017, Utthaan was formed through the integration of CCIZ and Kilkari. The activities performed under the umbrella of Utthaan have always focused on letting the under privileged people, and specially abled students become self sufficient. Kilkari founded in the year 2008, was the first student driven initiative at IMT-Nagpur which catered to suppporting the special children. It had adopted special schools from nearby villages, whereas CCIZ was formed in 2012, with an agenda to educate and assist the underprivileged people in the surrounding areas of IMT-N. This year, both have come together to form a single entity that aims to empower all the needy, and to move people towards a better future by raising awareness and uplifting them. Some of the annual activities of Utthaan include Blood Donation (in association with LifeLine Blood Bank), event like the Joy of Giving is held in IMT Nagpur to raise funds that can be invested in other social activities. Tree Plantation, Village Empowerment and Health Camp are the other activities that Utthaan carry out in the nearby villages to inculcate the importance of health and sustainability. One of the major event that takes place at IMT-N, is the Annual Day which is celebrated in the memory of Late Dr. Abdul Kalam. During this day, students from special schools like Prerna Special School, Kalmeshwar, and Deaf & Dumb Residential School, Saoner, visit our campus, participate in different competition of art, music, rangoli etc. The day is made special for these students by creating fun filled activities for them and help them enjoy the day. Purpose is to spread happiness and make it a memorable experience for them. Such a joyous occasion adds even more color to their life. Utthaan is an initiative with its mission and vision directed towards helping society and to help students in becoming better human beings. This initiative also aims in imparting to our student’s st IMT- N, holistic ways of integrating their education with being socially responsible managers and future leaders.
