Welcome to PGDM 2011-13 Batch at IMT Nagpur
Watching the students of new batch entering the college gives rise to a number of emotions in me, resulting in a mixed feeling of happiness and nostalgia at the same time. On one hand I am sad because our seniors cum mentors are leaving the college and on the other hand I am happy and excited to welcome the new batch. The happiness is also accompanied by a feeling of pride and responsibility to act as senior batch and guide the fresh batch towards becoming an integral part of IMT Nagpur family just as I did.
I still remember my first day at IMT Nagpur. I was excited, nervous, and scared at the same time. There were so many questions in my mind struggling to make their way out and look for answers. Today, when I see the junior batch I am sure they are going through the same emotions as well. It is strange how I feel responsible to guide these people whom I have not even seen yet. This is probably because of the guidance and care I received from my seniors and the IMT management. It was because of their love and support, that IMT Nagpur and the people here became an inseparable part of my life before I even realized that.
Unlike other colleges where first day in college is often accompanied by ragging and confusion, my first day at IMT Nagpur was one of the most memorable days of my life. I remember when I stepped into the college campus for the first time, I was mesmerized by the elegance and exoticism of the place. The hostel was a pleasant surprise. I had heard of various disaster stories like dirty hostel rooms, smelling toilets and unhygienic food in hostels. However, the boys hostel (and I believe the girls hostel too) was amazingly neat, spacious, and well-maintained. The food was amazing as well.
In addition to these materialistic factors, the people I met at IMT Nagpur made my coming here more memorable. It was the support from the batch-mates and the guidance from the seniors that made the orientation week more fruitful than I’d imagined. Amidst registration processes and room allocations, I made some good friends and met really good mentors. The presentation from different committee members during the evening gave us a chance to interact with the seniors.
I would like to welcome all my juniors at IMT Nagpur and wish them all the best for their journey here. Being the new batch, students will also go through orientation for one week. Enjoy this training period as much as you can. The short breaks you will get during the orientation will serve as an important time to make friends and get more familiar with the new environment.
I would also like to assure you that you will surely fall in love with this place. Not only studies, but everything starting from faculty to the fun time at college canteen and hostel rooms is amazing. Grab every opportunity that comes your way. Embrace IMT Nagpur and it will give you unlimited love in return. Good Luck!
