Wandering Souls
Meandering curls run across her neck
Revealing a mark so enticing
You would not wish to run your fingers through her hair.
Arresting your soul with her glances,
She captures your imagination like none does.
A keen observer, her laughter echoes
In your mind and opens up windows to your soul.
Let me talk real slowly
Let me try real hard
Perhaps she will realize
That she possesses my heart.
There can only be night when she leaves
It is always sunny when she is around.
They say excess of anything is rendered insignificant,
Except my longing for her.
At times I wish she spent some time with me
Like the countless hours she spends courting solitude.
Let me talk real slowly
Let me try real hard
Perhaps she will realize
That she possesses my heart.
She soothes your restless mind
Like a messiah would dissolve the differences
In this fragmented world.
She makes you dream, like the one I had last night.
We were on the edge of a cliff
Watching a belt of asteroids,
Shooting over our head.
We asked ourselves if our feet had gotten too weary,
In the quest for perfection.
Our wandering souls had a conversation
We decided to stall our journey for a while.
Let me talk real slowly
Let me try real hard
Perhaps she will realize
That she possesses my heart.
