Rohan Mehra, IMT Nagpur 2010-2012 Batch – “IMT-N: B-School with a Difference”
Taking a trip down memory lane, thinking about the times at IMT-N, invariably brings a smile, making one relive so many moments. To jot those down is a really difficult task
IMT-N holds a very special place for anyone who has ever been associated with it. One of the reasons is the fact IMT-N provides the perfect blend of learning and fun for students. The campus, the faculty, peers, culture, infrastructure, all ensure your stay on campus is far beyond your expectations.
After spending some quality time on campus, you slowly and steadily start to realize how beautifully different the campus is from others. The distance from the main city always makes a first impression on all newcomers, but soon, they come to realize the distance factor has its own charm, as it helps to create a completely different atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of the daily routine of city life we all are so accustomed to. Moreover, the campus itself is so vast and beautiful, one can’t help but fall in love with it!
Spending time in the classrooms, we realize the academic experience again is completely different, as here emphasis is always placed on classroom learning, using the perfect mix of traditional chalk and talk as well as the modern tools available to the faculty. The fact faculty are available even at 9 p.m. to help the students shows there is no such thing as just classroom time and speaks volumes about the commitment and attitude of the faculty.
Guest lectures are another unique aspect. Eminent personalities from the corporate world are called in to provide real-life examples of how and where the theories learned in class are being used in the real world. This emphasis on providing real-life examples only enhances interest in the subject matter for the would-be managers.
It is the difference in the campus culture one sees first and which creates the biggest impact in the minds of students. The various committees, forums (ranging from the Marketing Forum to Music Forum, to the Dramatics Forum), student-initiated bodies (like the Co-operative Store, Campus Oxygen), sports activities, all of which form an important part of life in campus, ensure there is no such thing as “free time” for those who want to make the most of their time on campus. Add to this the events and games conducted by the forums and you’ll know this is a place which provides ample opportunities for those who want to make full use of it and helps create memories to last a lifetime.
Live to believe it.
