My Childhood

As the eyes kiss together,

As they travel the time together,

As the past becomes the present again,

The man becomes a boy again.

Filled with laughter and joy everywhere,

Smartness was not needed as innocence was there,

Life was simple with embarrassments unknown,

Life was hard with the schools still known,

When adulthood was waited to give us the lessons of life,

So that we could enjoy the sweet, sour and spice,

When we could express ourselves without the use of words,

When we were not confined by the stupid formalities of the world,

When value was valued over price,

Because values were those in which our lives sufficed,

I would love to go back to then if I could,

My eyes cry together as I miss my childhood.
