IMT Nagpur’s placement achievement

Institute of Management Technology, Nagpur has gained the reputation of a quality education provider. It stands a leader despite being relatively ‘young’ in the arena of management institutes. IMT Nagpur achieved an impressive campus recruitment record. Its 2009-11 PGDM batch has performed brilliantly both in academics as well as where placements are concerned, making IMT N an institute future students would consider seriously.

77% of IMT N graduates have been taken in by big names in the industry. This is a proud moment for IMT N as it is just five years old. Companies from different parts of the county interviewed IMT N grads, coming up with offers they could not refuse. The big smile on the faces of the 2009-11 batch students showed their joy. Hard work and intelligent application of lessons learnt always pays, and it did for the IMT N students.

Among the 72 reputed organizations that came to interview IMT N students, names that stood out because of their sheer presence in top of the mind recall were HDFC Bank, L&T, Thomas Cook, Asian Paints, SBI Life, ICICI Bank, Indus Health, TCS, Punj Lloyd, Yes Bank, etc.

Job profiles included banking, FMCG, financial services, insurance, investment banking, market research, IT and ITES, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, manufacturing, consumer durables, engineering, retail and many more.

Some students, as is quite usual, opted out of the campus placement option. Of the total of 299 students passing out, 229 have secured jobs.

Talking about the courses offered Dr. Rajendra Nargundkar, director, IMT Nagpur said, “IMT Nagpur offers the PGDM and specialized courses in HR, Finance and IT. All of them are geared towards equipping the students to meet the challenges that organizations have to face in the highly dynamic and technologically advanced business environment of today.”

He added, “Our alumni are prominently placed. They are performing very well in their organizations. A few of them are even venturing into setting up their own enterprises. This gives ample credence to our claim that the two years that they spend with us equips them to contribute effectively whether they are employed or self-employed.”

Salaries drawn by the PDGM students, ranged between a high of Rs. 9.6 lakhs to a low of Rs.3.2 lakhs, averaging out at Rs. 5.5 lakhs. Locations were in places like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, etc.
