Bombay to Nagpur

The thing about Mumbai is that if you go ten yards, you find all of the human existence exposed. It is an incredible carnival of life, there is a certain pace to it. There is a high-energy social life and the thrill of an exhilarating professional life. In Mumbai, the sea is calm but the rains are fierce. Every passing day, the traffic seems to get louder, the sky and the seas bluer. The buzz in the city itself gets crazier.

I never planned to leave what I call my place, but amidst all the party plans, life happened; MBA happened! Leaving Mumbai was very difficult because it is not just a city, it is a feeling, it is a way of life, and it is HOME!

The first day I came to Nagpur, everything was different. There was not one familiar face, not even an acquaintance. Spending two years in such a place seemed unimaginable. I immediately wanted to run back to comfort, but then I met some amazing people and I started seeing positivity in what lay in front of me.

The air here is fresh, not salty. There are not many seas or beaches but there is certainly the serene lake. This place may not have the blaring cacophony of traffic but there definitely is peace, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The grass is greener and people seem to be very welcoming. Having spent some time here, I have come to realize that this place isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It is beautiful and lively in its own peculiar way.

No matter how this story goes, I am sure of one thing. My new abode, a home away from home awaits a very different journey; one that I will write about with a heavy heart when it dawns on me that this journey will end someday.
