The Institute of Management Technology, Nagpur held their
annual round table conference at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai on 23rd
November, 2006.
The conference was based on a panel discussion format, where
the panel comprised of corporate luminaries like Mr. Ranjit
Shahani, Mr. Avinash Kaul, Mr. Amit Bansal, Mr. Suhas Ajgaonkar,
Mr. Maheysh A. Tamhaney, Brig (Retd) Joe Curian, Mr. Rajiv
Karwal and Mr. Sanjay Sinha.
The keynote speaker at the conference was Mr. Ranjit Shahani,
VC and MD Novartis India.
The discussion, moderated by Mr. Maheysh A. Tamhaney, Business
Development Head, CRISIL India, was centered around the speech
made by his excellency Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam about his vision
for India in the year 2020. The role of corporate India in
making this vision a reality was explained by the various
speakers.
Eminent members of the corporate world as well as faculty
and students of IMT Nagpur comprised the people who attended
the conference. They all actively participated in the discussion.

- Amit Bansal, (Single most important factor, education
for all, and that too vocational)
- Avinash Kaul, (Media is a reflection of society and can
help in development of awareness for all)
- Suhas Ajgaonkar, (At least one cyber café for all)
- Brig (Retd) Joe Kurian, (India understands its power,
but is aware of balance of power not power of balance)
- Avinash Kaul, (Biggest asset for all of us is the freedom
of speech)
- Brig (Retd) Joe Kurian, (Regulation is a need but selective
regulation must be implemented)
