The Need:
The effectiveness of case method of instruction in management education at graduate and post graduate level is well understood. Pioneered by Harvard Business School, the Pedagogy has been adopted by several business schools in India and abroad.
Either dissatisfaction with the available case studies or the joy of using one’s own case study has transformed many faculty members adept in case method of teaching to attempt case writing. Several faculty members are undergoing this transformation.
The proposed case conference is aimed at faculty members who are transforming themselves from case teaching to case writing. The conference aims to help case writers improve their cases by providing constructive feedback in a collegial environment. Besides, the conference will be a great opportunity to meet colleagues from other institutions and learn from their experiences of case method of teaching and case writing.
