|
| |
 |
Will I be upgraded
to IMT Ghaziabad? |
|
| |
| |

lists are independent both the institutes have their
own merit lists and waitlists |
|
| |
 |

the refund policy? |
|
| |
| |
As a responsible corporate citizen,
our refund policy will be governed by the regulations

|
| |
 |
Can I change my programme,
For ex. PGDM to PGDM (F), after I start my classes? |
|
| |
| |
At present No. You have been
admitted to a specific programme. However, at the
end of first year, it may be possible to allow change
of programmes, subject to vacancy availability and
students wanting mutual exchange. |
|
| |
 |
Why do you
have these different programmes? |
|
| |
| |
These programmers have been conceived
to address different needs of the industry. As we
understand, financial sector and IT sector are on
an electrifying growth path. Therefore, the two
specialized courses have been conceived. |
|
| |
 |
How are these
programmes structured? |
|
| |
| |
Very similar to any other MBA
course. There will be 25 compulsory courses, 14
elective courses in different functional areas and
1 summer internship. |
|
| |
 |
I am being told by my friends
that once I am in PGDM, I can't specialize in finance
or IT? |
|
| |
| |
Not true. You can specialize
in finance or IT even if you are in PGDM. However,
you will be required to take courses in other functional
areas also. Please refer to the chat below. |
|
| |
 |
What will be
the policy on specializations? |
|
| |
| |
Specialization is based on the
number of elective courses you have done in a particular
functional area. Usually, if you have done 5 elective
courses in a particular functional area, you will
be considered to have specialized in that area.
For example, if you have done 5 elective courses
in HR, then HR will be one of your specializations. |
|
|
 |
Can I specialize
in a functional area other than my own programme?
For ex. Can I specialize in finance if I am a student
of PGDM or PGDM (IT). |
|
| |
| |
The policy on specialization
given in the following table.
PROGRAMME |
COMPULSORY SPECIALISATION |
OTHER SPECIALISATION(S) |
| PGDBM |
Any one or dual specializations |
|
| PGDBM (F) |
Finance |
IT, Marketing, Production,
General Management, HR |
| PGDBM (IT) |
IT |
Finance, Marketing,
Production, HR, General Management |
| PGDBM (HR) |
HR |
IT, Marketing, Finance,
General Management |
|
|
| |
 |
Can I stick
to just one specialization? |
|
| |
| |
In principle, Yes. However, that
specialization has to be from the compulsory specialization
list applicable to your programme. But, you have
to take electives from all other functional areas,
even though you may not specialize in any of those
areas. |
|
| |
 |
Will I be allowed
to take all the electives I want to take? |
|
| |
| |
Not always. It is subject to
a minimum number and maximum number that can be
accommodated in a course. This is the practice in
all the institutions all over the world. In case
of number of students wanting to opt for a course
is more than the capacity for the course, then students
will be allowed to register based on some objective
and transparent criteria. |
|
| |
 |
I am in PGDM.
Can I apply for a job in finance or Can a person
from PGDM (F) apply for a job in marketing? |
|
| |
| |
Placements rules at IMT Nagpur
are decided collectively by the students, subject
to their reasonableness and institute's long term
interests and relationship with the corporate's.
As of now, institute does not intend to restrict
students from applying to jobs based on their programmes
or specializations. |
