IMT Nagpur Wins at Athlos '12, Adrenaline rushed. Spirits soared. What a battle for glory it was. What a fabulous feeling of achievement it was when IMT Nagpur’s Sports Team created history. It was declared as the Overall Winners at Athlos ’12, an inter college Sports Fest hosted by the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB).

Neha Katyal and Merwin James won the Nagpur region round of Tata Crucible Quiz. IMT Nagpur created history by becoming the 3rd institute ever to have 3 teams on stage. And Neha Katyal became the first woman internationally to win the regional round more than once. The business quiz conducted by the Tata group saw a participation of more than 170 teams in the Nagpur region and more than 3000 teams internationally. The winners will now head for the national finals to be held in Mumbai in the thrid week of April. more details

Ankit Bhasin and Akhil Agrawal stood second in the business plan competition Radio FM held during Consortium at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) in January 2011. In the competition, the participants were required to bid for an FM channel and design its operations including place and RJs and design the marketing campaign thereafter, within the budget allocated.

A team of 26 students stood overall 2nd in the sports meet Athlos, organized by XIM, Bhubaneshwar. The other achievements in the sports meet included Throwball-1st, Basketball (girls)-1st, Table Tennis-2nd, Basketball (boys)-2nd, Volleyball-2nd and Football-2nd.

Sreeram Ramakrishnan and Gowri N Kishore presented the case "Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. -Challenges of Change" at the International Case Conference 2010 conducted in November 2010 at Goa. The topic of the case study was organizational change and aftermaths of an M & A.

Abhishek Choudhary and Alok Paliwal stood third in the business proposal competition held during Fusion 2010 at IMT, Ghaziabad. They presented a business proposal for banking license for their Non-Banking Financial Corporation (acting as Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services).

Meenu Mynam stood first in the Essay Writing Competition organized by XIMB during their CSR Summit 2010. The topic for the essay was "Corporate Social Responsibility: An effective business strategy".

Swati Sinha won the Best Internship (HR) Competition-Tatva at the recently concluded management festival of IMT-Ghaziabad-Passion 2010. In the first round, her project titled "Studying Attrition and Suggesting Retention Models", successfully completed at Café Coffee Day, Pune, was shortlisted from more than 200 entries from all over the country, across several B- Schools. The second round consisted of the 5 finalists making their presentations to a jury comprised of HR professionals and veterans of the industry. Swati stood the winner among participants from institutes such as IMT-Ghaziabad, IIFT, BIMTECH etc.

Kishore Pathur presented a paper on 'Symbiotic Innovation: How to Create a Framework for Innovation Powered by Crowd and Leverage it for Business' at the International Conference and Colloquium held at IIM, Indore in September 2010. The conference was for researcher scholars, academics, PG students and industry researchers to showcase their research work that had significant impact. The paper shortlisted for presentation shows how innovation is a systemic process which can produce fantastic results when done properly.

Richa Tibarewal and Neha Singh, pursuing PGDM from IMT Nagpur, presented a research paper at International Conference ITBI'09, organized by Institute of Management Technology, Nagpur. The title of the paper was "Implementation of VLE framework at IMT Nagpur". The students won the "Best Paper" award in the student's category in the conference. More Details

The IMT Nagpur Team "Phronemos", consisting of Amit Motwani, Ankur Rastogi and Varsha Gupta participated successfully in SIBM B-School fest "Transcend - 2008" . They won third prize in Marketing event ' Barefoot Executive'. It was a two day event . On the first day, teams were asked to get qualifying leads for the consultancy firm "my jobsinpune.com". On the second day, teams were asked to sell any kind of product or service to earn maximum revenue out of the money earned before. The team "Phronemos" earned maximum profit. Also, Amit Motwani and Ankur Rastogi won the Best Online Entry in Advertising Event. Other participating B-Schools included IIM Indore, MDI Gurgaon, SIBM Pune, NITIE Mumbai and NMIMS Mumbai.

Mr. Saurbh Kumar Singh, 1st year PGDM student manager has won the research paper contest and his paper in the area of HRM titled ’Compensation Management' adjudged among the top six research papers at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune.

IMT Nagpur Participated in B-school meet "Imperium 2007" of Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon. The team comprised of three student managers, Saket Kabra, Shruti Alang and Saikat Dam. The team qualified for prelim by submitting the paper on "Envision the future of logistics in India". This paper won the First Prize among all the B-schools. Finally eight teams were selected for the final round to be held at MDI campus itself. These were IIMA, MDI Gurgaon, XLRI, SCMHRD, NMIMS, XIMB and IMT Nagpur.
In the final round the teams had to play a simulation game named "Connect OR" which was operations game. The game was a simulation game driven by Customer orders given by the game director. The teams had the objective of planning the production facility of a filter producing firm. At the same time, the team had to minimize cost and maximize profit and hence the enterprise value. |

IMT Nagpur successfully participated in a National Management Fest "naissance 2007 " B-School an corporates organize by hosted of SDM Institute of Management Development, Mysore. The team won First Prize in the Operations game and Second prize in the Best Manager contest.
The team for the operations game comprised of Prashant Pathak, Saikat Dam, Amit Motwani and Piyush Agarwal. The game consisted of three stages. The first one was a operations quiz. The second round was a cost and time estimation game. The last and final round was a virtual Supply chain Management game. The team occupied First position throughout all the stages. The other participating institutes were XIMB, Alliance Business School, IIPM Bangalore, ICFAI Bangalore, Christ College Bangalore etc. For the best manager game, Uday Bajoria was the sole participantes. He won the Second prize. It was a 10 round game thoroughly checking all the managerial skills of an individual. The participants were under surveillance for 48 hours. The other participants were IIM-K, XIMB, Alliance Business School, IIPM Bangalore, ICFAI B-School Bangalore etc. |
